I am Rev. Jerry Bellamy, a retired Catholic Priest now performing weddings in the capacity of a Non-Denominational Minister.

My background is rather unique in that I entered the seminary in 1960, and was in study of Christian teachings for 12 years. I was ordained as a Catholic Priest in 1972 for the Archdioceses of Los Angeles, and assigned to Santa Barbara. I was in parishes there for the next 9 years. I retired from full-time ministry in 1981 because I wanted to marry and raise a family. I am married to a wonderful woman and have 2 great children. My wife, Adrianne, is an ESL teacher here in Santa Barbara. My daughter is a graduate of UCLA, and my son is 21 years of age and very busy in the entertainment industry. They both dance Flamenco professionally, apearing in movies and TV. Since 1981, while I am a retired Catholic Priest on Inactive status, I perform marriages in the capacity of a Non-Denominational Minister. I have been performing weddings throughout the Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties since 1971. I do speak Spanish. I perform weddings for couples of ALL religious backgrounds, and even for couples who want absolutely nothing religious at all in their ceremony. My father was Presbyterian and my sister is Mormon – a good family mix. As a result of all the weddings I have performed, I do NOT show you Ceremony A or B or C to review, with you having to choose the ceremony that would do "least damage to your relationship". I have found that approach has never worked well. Rather, I plan each ceremony with the couple so that the end result is exactly what they want. As a result of this planning, the average ceremony lasts about 20-25 minutes, but it could end up being more or less. I would say that the weddings I perform end up being spiritual and not explicitly "religious" in nature, unless the couple wants a very traditional, religious ceremony.
